Brétigny-sur-Orge
airfield
|
The photo show us Brétigny-sur-Orge airfield in South of Paris in 1945. The roof of hangars are still damaged, bombs craters summarily filled up. The document "l'histoire du Centre d'Essais en Vol" were from camed those pictures tell us << the airfield is in poor state, sommarily repared after the last bombardments. There is 2 concrete landing strips, some hutted camps made of wood and a control tower made with thick boards.>> One can see on the map the place of hangars 1 & 2. I don't know if it's the same hangars, repaired, that one can see today from department road D19, but the structure look very close. - - - Thanks a lot to Dominique Carpentier for help - - - |
